Hello
Every child, individual, and parent has their own voice, preferences, and unique support needs. Everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve success and happiness in life. By learning about one another and discovering ways to offer support, we can foster understanding, acceptance, and genuine inclusivity.
The system is currently malfunctioning, and it is imperative that we unite as a community to advocate for change.
My Story
Hello! I’m Rebecca, or you can call me Becky.
As a 41-year-old neurodivergent mother of two wonderful neurodivergent children, my journey started off overwhelming and isolating when my oldest was diagnosed. However, connecting with other families and community members transformed my experience, providing the support I needed. For the past five years, I have dedicated myself to helping others navigate their journeys, ensuring no one feels alone.
I am deeply passionate about neuro-affirming supports, with a keen interest in neurodivergent psychology, autism traits, behaviors, and autism in women. I advocate for the principles of Ross Greene, Uniquely Human, and Dr. Shanker. My curiosity drives me to read, research, and observe the fascinating differences within the vast spectrum of neurodiversity. Simply put, I adore the autistic brain!
Being diagnosed with autism at 41 brought significant positive change to my life. I also have a neurodivergent spouse and stepchildren, and our household is well-acquainted with ASD, ADHD, PDA, ODD, OCD, and the unique dynamics of a spicy family.
My personal interest in school advocacy has grown as we’ve navigated the public school system for over nine years. I aim to use my experiences to assist other parents and collaborate with schools to foster inclusivity and acceptance of disabilities. Our children are enrolled in programs that cater to their diverse needs: public, modified public, homeschool, and alternative schooling.
I have many ideas in progress, and my goal is to connect parents and individuals with community supports. I’m eager to meet more support providers and individuals who share my passion for diverse support systems!
*Nobody about us without us.* is a mantra I feel very strongly about.
Support and advocacy should come directly from neurodivergent individuals and families. The world is changing!
